My story

Ilaria Fioranti was born in Turin on September 30, 1974.

In 2000 she graduated in Modern Humanities, course in History of Music, at the University of Turin, with a degree thesis entitled “L'attività del teatro Carignano nell'Ottocento. Le stagioni d'opera buffa dal 1800 al 1810” (The activity of Carignano Theatre in the Nineteenth Century. The Seasons of Opera Buffa from 1800 to 1810). Simultaneously with university, she begins her training as an Opera singer at the International Academy of Music “L’opera rinata” (Opera Reborn) of Turin. She also follows short-term courses to deepen her knowledge of vocal technique, scenic interpretation, study of the score and phoniatrics. Since the early years she performs in concerts and Operas (Opera productions, themed concerts, Operas in concert form).

Over the years, for the improvement of the vocal technique, she relied on the expertise of Maestros such as: Maurice Bourbon, Valter Carignano, Susy Dardo, Elisabetta Tandura, Claude Thiolas. For the study of the repertoire more suitable to her vocal style she made use of the support of Maestros accompanist such as: Michela Forgione, Paolo Grosa, Patrizia Quarta, Roberto Santocchi, Massimiliano Franchina.

In 2000 she’s the 1st maid in Lerner & Loewe’ My Fair Lady at the I.T.C. Oscar Romero Theatre in Rivoli (Turin).
In 2002 she’s Giannetta in Donizzetti’s L’Elisir d’amore at the Matteotti Theatre in Moncalieri (Turin).
In 2003 she wins the diplomas of:

1st prize at the international competition “I giovani per i giovani” (Young people for young people) Prize Anna Veloce D'Ettore, San Pietro in Vincoli (Ravenna), with a score of 97/100.
2nd prize at the International competition “S.Cecilia”, Naples, with a score of 94/100.
3rd prize at the international competition of musical performance “Johannes Brahms”, Acqui Terme (AL), with a score of 88/100.
3rd prize (Opera section) and finalist diploma (chamber music section) at the international competition for Opera singer and chamber music, Vercelli.
3rd prize at the international music competition of the Cultural Center of the town of Bacoli (Naples), with a score of 84/100.

The same year she’s Maddalena in Verdi’s Il Rigoletto at the Incontro Theatre in Pinerolo (Turin).

In 2004 she’s Berta in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Italia Theatre in Poirino (Turin). In the same year she performs in concerts during the music festival Recitar Cantando (Act singing) in Vercelli, with Maestro Roberto Santocchi.

Beginning in 2005, following the advice of the baritone Maestro Alessandro Corbelli, she improves her vocal technique under the guidance of Maestro Claude Thiolas and, afterwards, under the guidance of soprano Maestro Elisabetta Tandura.

In 2005 she participate as soloist in concert lessons Italian Songs and Arias performed by Maestro Roberto Santocchi in Vercelli. In the same year she’s Sister Angelica in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, a version of the Opera in a concert form, with Maestro Roberto Santocchi in Vercelli.

In 2006 she receives an acknowledgment by A.I.R.C. – Italian Association for Cancer Research – Sicilian Delegation, on the occasion of an Opera concert she performed for such association.

In 2007 she wins the diploma of 3rd prize at the 5th international competition of musical performance “Premio città di Padova” (Town of Padua Prize), Padua, with a score of 89/100.

In 2008 she’s Mimì in Puccini’s La Boheme at the Operistic Summer Festival of the Cantiere Musicale of Santa Croce, Bosco Marengo (AL). in the same year she wins the 2nd prize at the international competition of musical performance “Premio città di Padova” (Town of Padua Prize), Padua, with a score of 93/100

In 2009 she wins the diploma of 1st prize at the international singing competition My Voice at Aranova di Fiumicino (Rome). In the same year she performs in concerts with Maestro M. Franchina in Rome.

In 2010 she records as a soloist the soundtrack of a nature documentary for the Swiss TV network SF (Netz Natur department).

Since 2013 she's the Manager of the China-Italy Music Project at ANGI.

Making use of her experience in the vocal field and following the improvement, over the years, of the techniques of conscious breathing (she followed training courses in Europe for), she also carries out the activity of vocal coach, both for the classical repertoire and for the modern one, for beginners, semi-professionals and professionals.

In 2014, Ms. Fioranti attended a traditional Chinese master's degree at the Shanghai Conservatory (R.P.C.)
Since 2016 Ms. Fioranti has been the Opera Singing professor at the New Music Voice Power in Cagliari (Italy), at the Iglesias International Opera Academy (I.O.A.) in Cagliari (Italy) and Iglesias (Italy), and the Project Manager of the International Relationship of the I.O.A., specifically the China Music Project - Italy.

Ms. Fioranti currently holds the title of A.N.G.I. Avvicina Network - Rappresentative for Sardinia (Italy).
In addition to her teaching career, Ms.Fioranti musical activity continues with concerts and operas and with M° Gianluca Erriu she has founded the duo Sonus.

Ms. Fioranti is also the Artistic Director of the Opera section of the International Piano and Opera Competition "SARDEGNA", organized by Ente Concerti Città di Iglesias.
